08 Nov

Cancun, Mexico is a place rich in Mayan culture, that boasts breathtaking, white-sand beaches, each offering something unique to those who venture on their shores. Cancun’s 14 miles of pristine beaches are surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and the striking shade of blue crystal-clear water. Some of Cancun’s best beaches include:

Eastern Beaches

Playa Delfines (Dolphin Beach)

Despite its thrashing waters, Playa Delfines has a relaxed atmosphere and magnificent views of dunes and glittering sand, especially from the lookout-El Mirador. It is one of Cancún’s longest and widest beaches, with coarse, dark sand. Locals and food and drink vendors tend to be on the shores of Playa Delfines, which is easily accessible by public bus or personal vehicle. While there are no hotels on this public beach, there is a playground, palapas and well-maintained restrooms. Peaceful sunbathing and dolphin watching can be enjoyed on Playa Delfines.

Playa Chac Mool

If you are looking for adventure, Playa Chac Mool is the ideal destination for the opportunity to explore the waters. Here you can dive into the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. This is a quiet beach with calm waters and minimal crowds, which makes it appealing, particularly for sports enthusiasts and beach-goers looking for tranquility and relaxation.

Playa Ballenas (Whale Beach)

Ballenas is known for its panoramic views and family-friendly atmosphere. There are large rocks near Bulevar Kukulcán, but the beach widens and stretches for several miles It allows for fun activities, such as swimming, tubing, boating, and water skiing. There is plenty of wildlife in the vicinity, from the lush green trees, to different species of birds.

Northern Beaches

Playa Tortugas (Turtle Beach)

Although a small beach, Playa Tortugas can become crowded thanks to the Isla Mujeres ferry service that enables easy access. This beach has the finest views of the Bajía de Mujeres, which also adds to its appeal. It is a local favorite and is great for jet skiers and parasailers because of its big waves. Snorkelers can explore the gorgeous underwater world. There are shallow areas for kids, while adults can have their fun in the deep.

Playa Caracol (Snail Beach)

With clear, turquoise water, Playa Caracol is a hot spot and the closest beach to Punta Cancún. Located in the heart of Cancun’s hotel zone, the calm waters and gentle surf of Playa Caracol make for excellent snorkeling conditions. Here you will find the waters dotted by sailboarders, waterskiers, catamarans and parasailers. Sand and rocks jut out from the water that make serious swimming less than ideal.

The beaches of Cancun are nestled in gorgeous surroundings and offer the opportunity to relax, explore and play.
