01 Jul

The Atlantic Coast (or Florida’s East Coast as some folks call it) is the perfect place to get your groove back if you feel you’ve lost it. The coast is home to various beaches and attractions that will replenish that pep in your step. Let us take you through our favorites, some of the bigger names you know, and some of the more low-key ones you don’t; either way you’ll find your new getaway.

We’ll start with the hot shots, the top one being South Beach. Known internationally for the fiery crowd it attracts, it’s also well known for its art deco and glamorous feel. Miami and Beaches coins it the art deco district, stating that you can always catch a celebrity or two wandering around the neighborhood, frequenting one of the many nightlife spots that are bumping during the day. When in the area, be sure to visit some of the galleries and small boutiques they have to offer, being sure not to miss the prized Ocean Drive for some fun, funk and flavor. If you can make this trip during Art Deco Weekend, thank us later; you’ll have a jam packed weekend full of surprises. All of this, along with the clear waters and sparkling white beaches have made South Beach a notorious place to treat yourself.

Next up we’ll zoom over to Daytona Beach, which is best known for being home to the Daytona 500 Nascar Race. If you’re not into fast cars, don’t fret, you can spend some time checking out rides and arcades by the boardwalk, taking advantage of the free summer concerts or race over to the Daytona Lagoon water park. There are places to go-kart, check out speedy cars, and even drive along a beach!

Jacksonville Beach  is one of the more relaxing areas on the Atlantic Coast of Florida, with a well known fishing pier, golf course and plethora of water activities and beach sports to enjoy. One of the most popular sports? Surfing! Ride the waves then mull over some of the best eateries that the east coast has to offer. Enjoy a laid back atmosphere when you want to escape the bustle of the other cities.

Keep up with the surfing vibes by heading over to Cocoa beach where you can find some of the best waves the Atlantic coast has to offer! Cocoa beach has a handful of beautiful beaches to visit, our personal favorite for your inner beach bunny is Canaveral National Seashore. The seashore is more on the secluded side but you’ll find yourself surrounded with dunes, lagoons and salt marsh – oh my!

Palm Beach is known as somewhat of a paradise, with Southern Living calling it the home of “innovative coastal cuisine”. Filled with historic landmarks and to-die-for estates, Palm Beach is home to the affluent and laid back. Stretching over 19 miles in beachland, Palm Beach is a go to for families and travelers that want to avoid the crowds. Flager beach is ideal for peace, quiet, and the place to see an occasional fisherman catching dinner.

A (not so hidden) gem in Palm Beach is the infamous Boca Raton. Though it is the last on our list don’t take that to mean much, it ranks as one of the most chic cities on Florida’s east coast! Filled with diverse dining spots and a culture that screams vogue, Boca Raton transports you with its extensive art museums, fine dining and glamorous lodging. Boca Raton Resort & Club has been named one of the nation’s premier resort destinations.Head over to Max’s Grille for their renowned red pepper hummus after an afternoon at the Boca Museum to see a new collection, view an exclusive screening or take a workshop.

So we’ve given you a solid run down of the diverse beaches and activities that the Atlantic Coast has to offer. Plan a trip, and tap into your inner beach bunny and enjoy!
